International Human Right to Organize (click here to download conference agenda, English and Spanish)

In May 2011, the UWC sponsored an international conference on the human right to organize. The event brought together excluded workers, unions, and our international counterparts, as well as other targeted allies for an unprecedented exploration of the challenges and imperatives towards realizing the human right to organize in the current political/economic climate. Conference participants explored intersecting areas of concern for social movements, society and global leaders including labor, poverty, migration, gender and racial discrimination, to name but a few. At the end of the conference, the UWC leadership affirmed a commitment to integrating an international labor perspective into our strategy.
