How to Join

We are opening our membership to new sectors and alliances. Interested organizations should contact our staff to discuss opportunities for membership. Organizations are encouraged to attend our regional meetings or attend a membership event (or webinar) to learn more about our work.

Criteria for membership:
• National alliances that represent a certain sector. For sectors without a national alliance, the organizations should have a national strategy or be active in regional/statewide efforts.
• Represent an "excluded" sector.
• Have a grassroots organizing strategy
• Have the capacity to contribute resources and staffing to national work
• Sign onto the principles and vision of the UWC

For organizations that are alliances, networks or coalitions that represent multiple sectors, they are considered allies. Other types of allies include:
- regional or statewide alliances
- national strategic alliances (of organizations, advocates or other stakeholders)
- foundations, legal or policy organizations
